February in Florida
NMT's Craig Jennings, Shaun Dunning, Shirley Bal and Joshua Terrell recently headed to Florida for a busy and productive week on the auction circuit, attending major industry events including the Jeff Martin Auction, the Yoder & Frey Auction, and the Ritchie Bros Auction. The team connected with buyers and sellers from across the equipment market, strengthening relationships and exploring new opportunities.
Jeff Martin Auction: Setting the Pace for the Week
The first morning at the Jeff Martin Auction opened with clear Florida skies, the steady rumble of machinery, and an atmosphere thick with anticipation. Auctions of this scale carry a unique rhythm: familiar industry faces emerging through the crowd, quick handshakes growing into detailed discussions, and conversations setting the groundwork for deals that move equipment across borders. It was a strong start for the NMT sales team, and the sense of momentum was unmistakable from the very first hour.
By day two, that momentum had turned into full stride. Craig Jennings and Shaun Dunning were already in the centre of the action, navigating between buyers, fielding last-minute questions, and ensuring shipping and logistics plans were firmly in motion. At an auction like this, every machine sold marks not an ending but the beginning of its next chapter and the team was on hand to make sure each journey was set up for success.
Yoder & Frey Auction: Keeping the Momentum Going
No sooner had the team wrapped up at Jeff Martin than they were straight into action at the Yoder & Frey Auction. The fast pace didn’t slow, it intensified. The team were quickly spread across the site, coordinating the next steps for machines headed to destinations around the world. From smaller utility vehicles to the heaviest construction equipment, every asset required attention, and every buyer had a timeline to meet. The team worked hard to ensure that nothing remained idle for long and that each machine’s onward journey was already in motion.
The following days settled into a steady, productive rhythm: early starts, long walks across busy auction yards, and constant conversations with buyers and sellers about transport plans and next steps. It was demanding work, but the kind that highlights the strength of our team, dedicated, organised, and always ready for the next challenge.
A Strong Showing at the Ritchie Bros. Auction
The week reached a powerful high point at the Ritchie Bros. Auction, where the atmosphere was nothing short of electric. Under the bright Florida sun, Craig Jennings from the UK, Shirley Bal from the Netherlands, and Joshua Terrell representing NMT Japan stood together, a trio from three different offices, united by a single purpose. Across the vast auction yard, rows of machinery stretched out in every direction, each unit awaiting its next destination. Buyers arrived with intentions and timelines; the NMT team arrived with solutions.
Throughout the event, the team worked seamlessly to support customers, provide guidance, coordinate logistics, and ensure that machines sold were quickly on their way to the next chapter in its journey. Piece by piece, shipment by shipment, cargo continued to move across global routes. And amid the fast pace of bidding, the constant rumble of engines, and the quieter moments that followed each long day, a shared sense of pride took hold, pride in the work accomplished and pride in the team that made it possible.
We supported, we advised, we coordinated, and we delivered. Piece by piece, machine by machine, we kept cargo moving worldwide. And somewhere between the noise of auctioneers and the quiet moments at the end of each day, there was a shared feeling among all of us, pride in the work, pride in the team, and excitement for what comes next.
Florida gave us long days, great people, and countless global moves set in motion. As the final machines rolled out and the yards began to clear, we knew one thing for certain. We look forward to doing it all over again next year.
