Starting my career at NMT Shipping UK has been an energising introduction to a company that truly lives its values. Even though I’m only four weeks in, I’ve already had the opportunity to visit two other offices (Netherlands and Belgium) and everywhere I’ve been, I’ve seen firsthand how our values shine through in the way our teams work, support one another, and serve our customers.

As someone completely new to the shipping industry, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But from day one, I’ve been encouraged to dive in and learn as much as possible. I’ve been invited to attend live auctions to understand how the business operates behind the scenes and joined a port tour to see our work in action at scale. These experiences have given me an invaluable early insight into the passion and expertise that drive NMT forward.

What’s become clear very quickly is that our values are not just words, they’re genuinely reflected in everyday behaviours. They’ve been evident in every office I’ve visited, every conversation I’ve had, and every opportunity I’ve been given to learn and grow.

My first month at NMT has shown me what makes this company exceptional: our people and the culture they create together. I’m excited to continue my journey here and contribute to a team that truly embodies who we say we are.
