NMT further Expands its Network – New Office opened in Germany
Published: 12-01-2011It is with great pleasure that we announce the expansion and opening of our first office in Germany, NMT Germany GmbH. The company is located in Bremen at the Weser waterfront and with easy access from the main roads.

Mr Manfred Schmidt will be heading NMT Germany. He has vast experience from the RoRo industry through various companies and positions, latest as Prokurist in Hoegh Autoliners, Bremen office

The official inauguration of NMT Germany will be celebrated in their office on Monday 17th January.

Dakar 2011: NMT supports Marcel van Vliet
Published: 14-12-2010NMT supports Marcel van Vliet in the 2011 edition of the Dakar. Marcel takes part for the seventh time. He made is debut in 2003. He drove a Bowler in 2005 en from 2006 onwards he has been racing trucks. In 2010 he made podium with a third place. In 2011 Marcel will drive for the Veka Racing team in a 700 bhp MAN rally truck.

The NMT Group - Adding Resources and a New Company
Published: 05-10-2010We have great pleasure in announcing that Mr Helge Helvik has started to work with the NMT Group as from 1st October 2010.
Helge Helvik has executive and commercial background from international positions in various industries prior to entering shipping by joining UECC in 1990. He worked with new and emerging markets and European Car Manufacturers, and was until 2008 based both in Brussels and Grimstad. In 1996 he also took responsibility for the Japanese Car Industry within UECC and turned this into one of the company’s largest contract portfolios.
In 2008 he founded Partner Shipping AS together with 3 former UECC colleagues and was until date their Commercial Director and member of the Board.
Helge Helvik will work as Managing Director of NMT Global Logistics AS, a new company recently launched with its base in Grimstad, Norway.
Helge Helvik will additionally be a member of the Executive Management Team in the NMT Group and act as an adviser and coordinator to the many companies forming the group.
The NMT Group welcomes Helge Helvik in his new position and feels confident that he is an asset for even further growth of our companies and to its many customers and partners.

Announcement: Strategic Cooperation to Develop the Used Cargo Segment
Published: 21-12-2009UECC has recently agreed a strategic cooperation for the development of the non contract segment with the NMT group,
one of Europe's largest Roll-on / Roll-off shipping companies.
NMT mainly focuses on used cars, trucks, trailers and other self-propelled machinery.
They have 80 employees around the world in major ports and at locations where used machinery is traded, often at auctions.
With their international network they have secured a leading position within the RoRo industry.
As of 1st January 2010, NMT will be the European booking channel for NON CONTRACT CARGO.
The agreement covers all continental load ports and all UECC trade lanes.
With NMT, UECC have now teamed up with one of the major players in the RoRo second-hand business, having the necessary market knowledge and an aggressive attitude to develop this cargo segment together with UECC.
UECC is one of the larger short sea carriers in Europe of which you can find their trade lanes and schedules as of the 1st January on the NMT website

NMT France will be based at Marseille and will be headed by Mr Jimmy Austen. NMT France is set up to boost up the French market for shipments from Le Havre, Marseille, Fos-sur-Mer and Sète.

Walvis Bay, Namibia
Published: 23-09-2009Since April 2009 NMT is operating a Ro/Ro service which sails direct from Europe North Continent and South UK to Walvis Bay. Already from the start it proved that Walvis Bay is in need of such a service for cars, vans, trucks and machines as this service provides fast turn arounds in the load and discharge ports and a short transit time.
At the moment NMT operates one vessel a month with a transit time of fourteen days. These monthly sailings offer ports of loading Rotterdam, Antwerp and Bremerhaven at Europe North Continent and Sheerness in South UK. In this rotation Sheerness is the last port of loading from where the transit time to Walvis Bay is 14 days on a non-stop sailing.
